Should the Dodge Viper be included as a muscle car in our list of recognized muscle cars? Feel free to comment on why you think it should or should not be included.

I honestly don't consider Viper a muscle car but since there are already Vette and GT we can't leave Viper..

I voted yes its muscle for the simple fact its an american made v10 rear wheel drive. The Vette and GT would be in the same class as the Viper, although none have ever been truely considered muscle cars in real life, more sport cars really, its their chassis and drivetrain I give them the consideration of muscle.

personally believe it belongs I mean lets face it.. If you ever wanted to strap yourself to the back of an engine well the viper makes that posible.. And i'm not here to dispute thi choice but the Viper deservers to be on the list much more than the Ford GT which imo constitutes as a supercar but thats just me

Well I think we can easily say they have the muscle, but I wouldn't class them as "Muscle cars" strictly. I think we should allow them but maybe split the more sporty cars into a separate division or "tier" for the purposes of this club.
I mean we don't really want to have an event day and have a ford GT racing against everyone else in their chargers.
Maybe we could have a pure Muscle class and include: Dodge Charger R/T Dodge Challenger R/T Pontiac GTO
And then a Sports Muscle class and include the likes of: Charger SRT8 SuperBee Chevrolet Corvette Ford GT Dodge Viper
Or something like that.
Alternatively, we could list the cars in say Stock speed order and number them off like
1 - Dodge Challenger R/T 2 - Dodge Charger R/TDodge 3 - Pontiac GTO 4 - Charger SRT8 SuperBee 5 - Chevrolet Corvette 6 - Dodge Viper 7 - Ford GT
Then use the numbering as an index for races. That sounds confusing, I like the 1st idea best, lol.

I agree that viper should be included to go along with the vette.
In response to sprucemoose's suggestion, I suggest any race events be based on in-game car performance....
Tier 1 (Muscle class) Charger R/T, Challenger, GTO and Charger SRT8
Tier 2 (Sport Muscle class) Vette, Viper
Tier 3 (Super Sport Muscle class) Ford GT
Now technically, you could seperate Charger R/T and GTO since they perform very well compared to Challenger and SRT8.
I do not have the Ford GT yet, so I am not sure if it performs "better" than the other T3 cars but regardless it seems as though it should be classified as super sport.

Wellcome to the club and thanks for your Ideas. Yeah wasn't sure on which clas to put the SRT8 in as im not sure how it races against those cars so I just guessed that class. Also the ford GT is very fast but I haven't raced the others myself either, but I agree maybe it should be a class above the rest. The only thing is it would be in a class on it's own(at least untill they add more cars), so we might want to leave it in with the others for the moment?

I would say leave the Vette and Viper up with the GT for now, until new cars get added, and the SRT8 can stay in class with the R/T's and GTO. Even though the SRT8 can beat them in accel, it will lose its speed in the corners where the others won't. ........ unless you're racing me

I've raced Spruce with my Viper against his GT and the had the advantage until the driver makes a mistake. My Viper only had two tuned parts brakes and suspension. Not sure about Spruces GT.

Looks like the majority of the current board membership is in favor of moving the Viper SRT10 into our list of currently recognized muscle cars. So I'm closing this poll for now
