The games acting buggy today... Screen hangs, late starts etc. I don't have a fix right now, but figured I'd start a thread for those who do have fixes or maybe want to find a fix. Right now... I'm gonna de-frag see if that helps any

There is an option you can use that will lessen some of the graffics lag atleast.
Goto game options>social>enable free roam filtering
That will make it so only the drivers that share your channel and or event are seen on your screen. It will take away the twitch you get when driving in to large crowds of cars.

Ahh nice one. I also sometimes get this weird lag in free roam and it continues in races and sometimes can make it hard to steer. Every time it jitters you lose a bit of steering so it makes it harder to turn also to accelerate. I have found that if I change channels it often seems to fix the problem but I would rather a permanent fix.
I have a good PC I think
Running CPU AMD Quad core 4 gig ram GPU AMD radeon 5850 750 watts power and such
I have a pretty good connection to can play BC2 fine and if I can play that thing I should be able to play anything lol.
Haven't really messed with any setting but the Idea chris mentioned Might just be the trick I'll let you know.

I was experiencing the exact same problem, and thats when I found that option while messing around.
My system is: Asus M4A77TD-Pro Motherboard AMD Quad Core 2.8 6gig Ram Ocz Gold ATI HD 4550 600W power
Another good point, if you run Vista or Win7, make sure to let NFSW turn windows aereo OFF, that will free up about 300mb of ram.
