lol... I'm geting off to work having watched that Great scene monk. I remeber seeing that in the movies when I was a kid. It didn't help that I got a 68 Charger (round tail lights, like the one in the movie) when I got to highschool. Thankfully I was a fairly respectable kid and didn't wind up on the wrong end of any car chases

You are right about that, in NONE of them were fake. The maker of the original gone in 60 actually rented 5 cities/towns, hired all their emergency response people, all the people in the background etc were actual citizens of each city/town. There was no camera tricks, what you see was actually done, and some scenes were done by accident, but they liked it so much it was left in the film.
Writen, Produced, Funded and and main actor was H.B. Halicki who even did his own stunt driving.
The Movie actually has two more written after it, one calls The Junkman, another called Deadline Auto Theft, a Gone in 60 Seconds 2 was in production when Halicki died performing one of his stunts. The action footage for part 2 was released on dvd, it takes place in san fransisco.

Love a good car chase or crash squence... Anything from Smokey and the Bandit, Gumball Ralley, Hooper, Cannonball Run, Cannonball, The 7ups, The Blues Brothers, etc...

just received the Special 2-disc Edition of Bullit by mail, man, i can't wait to watch it. the scene has been deleted from YouTube, unfortunately, but i have the remastered version right in front of me, and tonight it will be Bullit time i am still waiting for the Special Remastered Edition of Gone In 60 Seconds, the old one, you guys have some real bad influence on my wallet, you post here some great car chase scenes, and i have to get those DVDs right away. but never mind, if you know of some other "good old" car movies just let me know
